The best in this expanded universe I have read so far is Dark Force Rising, by Timothy Zahn .. I reallllly recommend it to any SW fans!
Expanded Star Trek paperbacks too.. I'm not one of those side-choosers :)
books dealing with history or mythologie / unexplained phenomena are also on my list.. I guess that about covers it so far.. will add more if I find any really good stuff :)
