About me:
I am a person who has never excelled at anything though I am very good at many things. I have made a habit of following the glorious path of the least resistance. I have made a good life for myself, yet something is missing. Not sure what it is, not sure I will ever find it. I am somewhat of a risk taker, which has helped me on many occasions, but also caused me pain.
I married a woman whom I had known for three years, dated for two months and then she became pregnant. I know I love her, but I also know she will never be my soul mate. I have a passel of kids at home that I adore, but feel I have spoiled them to the point that they lack appreciation for what can be gained through honest work and hard effort, and I am working to change that before they get too old to change.
My friends would describe me as very funny, outgoing and willing to lend a hand whenever needed. I can be the life of the party and I enjoy being around people I care about and whose company I enjoy.
My desire to help others has led some to take advantage of me in the past, but that will not prevent me from opening myself up to people in the future and will not change my core belief that it truly is better to give unselfishly, though I have been very selfish at time.
Some would claim the dichotomy of me is based on being born a Gemini, I think it is because life is too short to be selfish, but too long to be too selfless.
I am trustworthy and loyal to the end, as long as you have proven your worth.
I am very slow to anger, but my anger is like a late summer storm, loud, tempestuous, violent (but never to humans or animal...though inanimate objects should hide...lol) but very short-lived and when its over...things are quickly forgiven and forgotten.
I am very happy with the life I have created for myself, believe it or not, but remain....unfulfilled. Maybe that is why I am here.

Who I'd like to meet:
I like to meet all sorts of people. Am I searching for something real? I doubt it. Am I searching for my soul-mate? Who knows....maybe. Am I searching for friends? Definitely. I guess I am not here to meet anyone, rather I am here to meet anyone who can accept me for me...although some days I'm not sure I do that.
If you want to chat...hit me up. If you need a shoulder to cry on...mine are huge. If you need to blow off some steam....howl at me. Just treat me fairly and don't ask for anything you are not willing to return, don't offer anything you can't live without and don't believe for a second that words can be taken back once they are spoken.

I played rugby for years. Of late I have taken a keen interest in politics and American History. I love watching football, mixed martial arts, rugby (when its on in AMerican, which isn't often) and NASCAR on TV, other sports I will only watch live or if there are a group of people watching the game, except golf, but I can only watch that for a very short time.
I love being on my boat fishing. Not just the catching fish part, but more the ability to hang out on a quiet lake with my good friend or my kids and just be.
I love Cap'n Morgan....in moderation.

Music:
I love all types of music and will decide what to listen to depending on my mood. You can usually find me listening to the eighties station or any hard rock station as long as it isn't too hard.
I believe that the blues represents the soul of American music.
I believe that Led Zepplin is the definitive rock and roll band and sound.
I believe that jazz fusion is NOT jazz, but something worse, something twisted, but very interesting none the less.
I could live without country, but after living out west for a few years, have come to appreciate the music.
I believe that techno/electronia/house music/trance and rave help me get a better work out.
I believe this newer rap music is the reason the inner cities are in such terrible shape. Making icons out of criminals and having your culture embrace misogyny, drive bys, drug abuse and the "thug life" undermines the moral authority of the parent, the teacher and the cleric and is causing significant problems.
Old School rap was fun and thought provoking and spoke to a generation, the new stuff just screams invective and propogates negative stereotypes.
The same can be said about certain forms of death metal and thrash metal.
I believe dance music has its place, but listening to it outside of a club is frowned upon, unless you are a girl, or are with a girl, or are under the age of 25. The same goes for pop music.
I believe classical music is just that, enough said.
Movies:
I love movies.
Romatic comedies shall only be watched by males when they are on a date, or they are at home with their girlfriend/wife/significant other and they are doing it to get laid.
Jerry Macguire is NOT a sports movie.
I have a twisted interest in the modern day slasher films, as well as the originals like Friday the Thirteenth and Halloween.
I believe classic horror (the werewolf, the mummy etc) are true americana.
I love cheezy slasher movies like Chopping Mall and Night of the Creeps.
I think that the director's cut of Bladerunner is a defining sci-fi movie whose themes are timeless.
I watch old Godzilla, Gamara and King Kong type flicks and I think MST3000 was brilliant, especially the episodes with Joel.
I think artsy films and foreign films are overrated.
I love Disney movies am completely amazed at how unabashedly racist and misogynistic they are. Especially the older ones.
I am so grateful I had kids so I have a reason to see kid's movies like UP and Monsters and Aliens and the Incredibles. They are some of the best movies out there.
I could go on forever.
In all honesty, I can enjoy just about any movie.
Books:
I love to read.
Horror, Science Fiction and Historical fact. My favorite authors include King, Barker, Koontz, Straub, McCammon, Asimov and Heinlein. I enjoy reading Dave Berry and Erma Bombeck for their humor.
I believe the Harry Potter series will be consider some of the finest stories ever written, even though they may not be considered great literature.
I believe you can only truly grasp the breadth of the human condition through literature. The differing perspectives and ideas that are all available for you to contemplate and consider is unfathomable. My greatest joy in life has come from seeing that my children love to read as much as I do and watching them expand their horizons through the written page. Anything you want or need to know, anything you want or need to do, anything you want or need to learn you can finds in a book. (or possibly on the internet, but you still need to read.)
Oh, and finally....
No comic strip series ever printed is funnier than Calvin and Hobbes. Although the Far Side is close.
