My WALK
Sometimes I walk alone for so long I begin to believe this will always be so. I wander alone, ignoring times flow.
Few danger signs or reminders will I heed. After a time I also believe that myself is all that I need.
So sure am I, of my lot in life and of my own strength. I forget that no one makes life’s journey alone, no matter the length.
So then, on I walk in a fog of denial, a mist of pride, a life without care. Stubborn is the heart afraid to need and afraid to share.
Fortunate am I who peer through the fog at the right time and place. To find before me a loving face.
A companion soul found walking in the same direction. A person we may appreciate without much correction.
I let go of my denial, my pride, my fear.
I take a chance and reach out a hand.
I trust in love and firmly grasp.
And in love at faiths cliff we together stand.
As one we leap into a dream made real. I made a choice, took a chance and found what I once denied I could ever feel.
Sometimes I walk as one so long I begin to believe this will always be so. I wander aimlessly, ignoring times flow.
Even as I walk this journey I must resist prides pull to demonstrate my own power. I must resist the fog of denial that may close in around me each hour.
Sometimes I walk so long I forget from where my courage will flow. I take for granted the hand that comforts me so.
In my comfort I believe it was always this way. That no matter what I do my companion will stay.
I often think I can take a different path to the same destination. I then make excuses and live in endless procrastination.
I go it alone, claim my own spaces and such. My companions request for my love is decried as: “too much!
Lost in my own needs I forget my purpose, forget myself and my dreams. I forget to share what I have with the other it seems.
All Journeys must end and this one will too. As beautiful as it is, no matter how strong or how true.
The sand will run out of all our hour glasses so cherish every moment of life. Share all your love with your children, with parents,with family, with husband or wife or your partner.
Time is the greatest gift we are given and can ever pass on. Take notice we must before it is gone.
Love in the end is all about time.
