Theosophus' Scoop
About me:
I am a follower - a disciple - of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know I fall far short of His perfect example, yet I strive daily to reach it. I am also a Christian apologist; I intellectually defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the historicity of the Christian faith, as well as the reliability and authenticity of God's Word; the Bible. I genuinely believe the Christian worldview is superior to all others. Those who would like to challenge me on these issues are more than welcome to do so; I am convinced that my faith can withstand scrutiny. However, if it is your goal to ridicule or deride my Lord or Christianity, rather than to determine whether Jesus' claims are valid, do not be surprised if I completely ignore you. I do not mean to be rude, but I have no interest in "casting pearls before swine." If, on the other hand, you are honestly seeking the Truth, and you are willing to consider that classic Christianity could be the source of Truth, then I will graciously answer any and all your questions to the best of my ability. Feel free to message me, email me, or stop me in the street.
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone - Basic or VIP - who is kind and enjoys lively, thought-provoking conversation. People with such interests invariably become my friends. I am also willing to chat with and meet with those who are curious or intrigued by my faith or philosophical beliefs, and will be more than pleased to discuss them. You need not agree with me. Simply treat me politely and respectfully (as I will you) and we will have an enjoyable and productive conversation. I am especially interested in meeting other Christians in RLC who would like to discuss the possibility of establishing a fellowship of believers in this virtual world. Those interested should contact either "DapperDan" or me for more information.

Interests:
I study theology and philosophy. Simply put, theology is the knowledge of God. One cannot claim to love God and not want to know Him better; to forever strive to get closer to Him. I believe the best way to attain such lofty goals is to 1. Study His self-revelation to us (the Bible), and 2. Spend much time with Him (prayer).
Philosophy is nothing more than having an opinion on any given subject. The true philosopher seeks to live in such way as to improve his world. This should be every person's goal - especially the Christian's

Movies:
In my estimation, movies should do either one of two things: entertain or inform. The best accomplish both. I judge most movies on one criterion: whether I can watch it again and again. The following are examples of such films:
"BeetleJuice" with Michael Keaton;
"My Cousin Vinny" with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei;
"Ferris Beuhler's Day Off" with Matthew Broderick;
"The Little Shop of Horrors" with Rick Moranis and Steve Martin;
Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" (most romantic);
"A Beautiful Mind" with Russell Crowe; and most films directed by Steven Spielberg.
Books:
My favorite author is C. S. Lewis - arguably the finest Christian apologist of the 20th century, A close second is Francis Schaeffer - a man who sought to improve the world's perception of the Christian faith. I sometimes joke with people that all my best friends are dead; Socrates, Plato, Soren Kierkegaard, C. S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, etc. They speak to me even though their bodies are dead.
Of contemporary, living authors, I enjoy the works of Cristian philosophers such as J. P. Moreland, Norman Geisler, and William Lane Craig. They take me to depths of my faith I never knew existed.
