Terry Brooks' novels (The Shannara series', The Magic Kingdom for Sale series, etc.). Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman also have some good fantasty novels. Stephen R. Donaldson's "Thomas Covenant" novels. Agatha Christi, Jack London, Douglas Adams, H.P. Lovecraft. "Lord of the Flies", "Red Dog", "Island of the Blue Dolphins", "L.A. Confidential", Greek Mythology, Non-Fiction Forensics books and, of course, "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks (don't leave home without it...). Lots more but I don't feel like trying to remember everthing.
