woodman's Scoop
About me:
I'm interested in seeing how creative I can get online. I've used computers for a long time, but never gotten into online society. I'm not much of a "joiner", but this looks like a fun place to hang out! I'm a little shy at first with people in RL, but am trying to get more outgoing in RLC...
Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like women comfortable with her sexuality, for general friendship, fantasy chat, and cybersex.

Interests:
My creative side goes into woodworking, and I have built a rocking horse, a hooded doll cradle, kitchen cabinets (arch top raised panel doors, if you're interested), a butcher block cutting board (from 300 pieces of wood), and done some woodturning, mostly bowls. I don't really have any driving message that I want to send to the outside world, although I did buy RadioInMyHead.com last year to blog the songs that were running through my head every morning. I messed around with the (crappy) web software and entered about two songs & haven't been back since. I still like the idea though -- what do you think? Some mornings it's things I enjoy listening to, and some mornings it's EVIL songs that won't go AWAY, such as the theme from Barney. I wanted to get the domain labmeat.com, (because I think the idea of meat cloned in a lab is disturbing and inevitable), but some earthy-crunchy guy already owns it... My quote from Groucho Marx is because a computer scientist once said, until you can develop an Artificial Intelligence that can understand that, you don't have anything.
My Favorite Websites:
www.slashdot.org
www.redlightcenter.com (duh!)

Music:
Wide variety - cool jazz (Miles Davis in the 50's, not fusion!), Harry Connick Jr. Current - I love P!nk -- the 'tude that girl has is awesome. Sugababes, Pussycat Dolls, Black Eyed Peas, Nelly, Gnarls Barkley. Older stuff - 80's Blondie, Pat Benetar, Go Gos, even Cyndi Lauper! It's a guilty pleasure, but I like women who sing about sex (e.g. Berlin I'm a --).
Movies:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (who doesn't?), MP's The Meaning Of Life, Real Men (just damn silly & funny), Fight Club, Jesus Christ Superstar (I don't know why - it may be the hippie-ness of it), Big Trouble In Little China. The occasional mindless shoot-em-up trash, your Terminators and what have you, followed by the occasional mindless teen sex comedy, such as Something About Mary.
Books:
Favorite authors: Roger Zelazny and Jack Chalker. I've read a lot of science fiction & fantasy, but have been more into non-fiction lately. Jared Diamod's two latest "Guns, Germs and Steall", and "Collapse" were both awesome. Read "Punished By Rewards..." if you've ever had anything to do with incentives or punishments (e.g. at work with bonus programs or at home with kids) -- it utterly changed my view on both of those. In a nutshell, the Skinner view that people will work harder/better for rewards or to avoid punishment IS NOT TRUE, based on 100's of psych experiments! I still don't know why this isn't common knowledge, given the research goes back to the 70's.
